As the Safety and Security Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being of warehouse staff and maintaining the security of valuable assets.
You will be responsible for ensuring the implementation and maintenance of comprehensive safety and security protocols to safeguard Ariat's warehouse facility, personnel, and assets.
Your primary focus will be on preventing accidents, promoting a safe work environment, and protecting our warehouse operations against potential threats.
Note:
This position will be on-site daily in Denton, TX and will also travel to Ariat's Haslet, TX distribution center.
You'll Make a Difference By Ensuring Safety Compliance - Developing, implementing, and maintaining safety policies and procedures to comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
Regularly reviewing and updating safety guidelines to reflect best practices and ensure continuous improvement in safety standards.
Managing Risk Assessment and Mitigation - Conducting regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards within the warehouse environment.
Developing mitigation plans to minimize risks and ensure the well-being of all employees, visitors, and contractors.
Establishing Accident Prevention Programs - Creating accident prevention and safety training initiatives for all warehouse staff.
Conducting safety training sessions to educate employees on proper handling of equipment, safe work practices, and emergency procedures.
Overseeing Incident Reporting and Investigation - Overseeing the process of reporting and investigating accidents, incidents, and near-misses.
Analyzing root causes and recommending corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
Outlining Emergency Preparedness - Developing and maintaining emergency response plans, including fire drills, evacuation procedures, and crisis management protocols.
Collaborating with relevant authorities and emergency services to ensure effective response during critical situations.
Developing Physical Security Measures - Implementing and managing physical security measures to safeguard the warehouse premises and its contents.
This includes access control systems, surveillance cameras, and alarm systems.
Ensuring Inventory Security - Collaborating with inventory management teams to ensure the security and integrity of goods and assets within the warehouse.
Implementing measures to prevent theft, damage, or loss.
Conducting Security Audits - Conducting regular security audits to assess the effectiveness of existing security measures.
Identifying vulnerabilities and recommending improvements to enhance overall security.
Managing Vendor Relations - Serving as a liaison to external security service providers and vendors to ensure their services align with the warehouse's security requirements and standards.
Ensuring Regulatory Compliance - Staying up-to-date with relevant safety and security regulations and industry best practices.
Ensuring the warehouse operations adhere to all applicable laws and guidelines.
Creating Training and Awareness Programs - Organizing workshops and training sessions to promote a safety-conscious culture among warehouse staff.
Encouraging employees to report potential security risks or safety concerns.
Managing Budget - Managing the safety and security budget, ensuring cost-effective allocation of resources while maintaining high-quality safety and security standards.
About You Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Security Management, related field or equivalent experience.
Relevant certifications and additional training are a plus.
Proven experience in safety and security management, preferably in a warehouse or logistics environment.
Strong knowledge of safety regulations, risk management, and emergency response procedures.
Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
Ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions to improve safety and security measures.
Familiarity with security systems and equipment.
Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
Flexibility to work occasional extended hours or weekends in case of emergencies or critical situations.
